Manitoba faith groups support KNOW Poverty

Faith institutions have always played an important role in fighting poverty.

"Love your neighbour as yourself: support raising welfare rates"
Manitoba churches join campaign

This year, Make Poverty History Manitoba is asking churches, mosques, synagogues and other faith centres to support our KNOW Poverty campaign.

MPHM has launched a campaign for the upcoming provincial election. It is a non-partisan campaign with the intention of making poverty an important issue in the election. It is our hope to have all parties make a commitment to alleviate poverty.

We are asking faith organizations  to act on this because we know that government pays attention. This past summer Churches for Freedom Road had a definite impact when they posted signs in support of Shoal Lake 40. Once again, churches and other faith groups using their signs as a platform to speak out on poverty.
